Early Intervention Program

The early years of a child's life are critically important. La Vida Felicidad, Inc. provides early intervention services for children, birth - 3 years old, whether a disability is already present or there is a risk for developing a disability.
Eligibility
- Early intervention services are provided at no cost to the family
- Infants and toddlers are eligible for early intervention services if they are found to have a developmental delay through the process of a developmental evaluation or if they are determined to be at risk for developmental delay due to biological, medical, or environmental risk factors
- There are no income eligibility requirements for families receiving these services
Services
- All children eligible for early intervention services receive a developmental evaluation and ongoing assessment of their development
- Early intervention services embrace the core values that services are relationship-based; services focus on the child and family's strengths; services are provided in the places where the child typically spends their day; and services are family-centered
- Each child/family is assigned one service coordinator who assists them in the all aspects of early intervention services, which includes coordinating evaluations and assessments; facilitating and participating in the development, review, and evaluation of Individual Family Service Plans; assisting families in identifying available service providers; coordinating and monitoring the delivery of available services; informing families of the availability of advocacy services; coordinating with medical and health providers; and facilitating the development of a transition plan when the child is ready to "graduate" from the early intervention program
- Early intervention services include developmental instruction, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and family support through the provision of parent training opportunities
- Services are provided in the most natural environment for the child and family, which usually is the family's home. Services can also take place at a babysitter's home, day care center, La Vida Felicidad, Inc. site, or other location chosen by the family
- Referrals to our early intervention program can be made at any time, by anyone.
