Home Care Program at La Vida Felicidad, Inc

La Vida Felicidad, Inc. provides no-cost homemaker/personal care services for adults who are frail, elderly, or disabled, and who are considered to be unable to do their own homemaking.
The purpose of home care services is to help maintain an adult in a safe environment, and promote self-sufficiency of adults who are unable to perform the essential activities of daily living without assistance because of physical or cognitive impairment.
Any person who meets either income or categorical criteria, and needs criteria is eligible for services.
Income Eligibility
- $1,717.00 or less income per month, double for couples
- Less than $2,000.00 in assets, per individual, double for couples
Categorical Eligibility
- Adult Protective Service (APS) Clients
- Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients
- Group Eligible Native Americans
Needs Criteria
- Letter from primary care physician stating person's medical diagnosis and statement of need
- Medical form is available at La Vida Felicidad, Inc.
Home Care Hours Provided
- Usually two hours per week
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry and errands
- Homemaker time can be increased to three or four hours per week, depending on need.
Persons Awaiting Services
- When a referral is made, information is taken on the individual and the person is placed on the waiting list, until a slot is available.
