Respite Program
Funded by the Department of Health
La Vida Felicidad, Inc. provides respite services at no cost to families. Respite services are available for eligible children and adults.
Respite Services
- Temporary relief from the ongoing responsibilities of caring for a family member with a disability
- Respite is provided by a trained care provider in the person's home or in another location
- Respite may be provided for emergencies or on an occasional or regular basis
- The Department of Health allocates a specific number of respite hours per individual
Eligibility for Children
- A child aged 0-3 must have been determined developmentally disabled in accordance with Long Term Services Division policy, and/or have been determined developmentally delayed or developmentally disabled by the Public School system, and/or have formerly been eligible for Early Intervention Services and have met the established condition or the developmental delay eligibility criteria under the Family Infant Toddler Program
- For respite services a child aged 3-21 years old must have been formerly eligible for Early Intervention Services, or have been determined developmentally disabled in accordance with Long Term Services Division policy or have been determined developmentally delayed or developmentally disabled by the Public School System
Eligibility for Adults
- To be eligible for respite, an adult over 22 years of age or older must have been determined developmentally disabled in accordance with Long Term Services Division policy
